Are you the type of person who needs a bi-annual reminder to get your desk back into shape? This
is that reminder. Have you never really cared at all? Since you’re so creative on the job, why not get
creative on your desk? We challenge you to try something new.
We’ve listed some ways to improve the surface of your work area, at home or in the office. Benefits
may include: improved concentration, answering client briefs, bonding with fellow co-workers, better
organisation, and the illusion of having it all together.

1. ADD A PLANT
Lucky bamboo is our personal favourite low maintenance indoor/office plant. Others such as Snake Plant, Philodendron and Aloe are also a great way to kill the game with low risk of killing your plants.
2. SCOOP SOME ART
Incorporating a beautiful framed piece can go a long way. What about a piece of your own art? Whatever works! To keep with the theme of “desk de-clutter” opt for a hanging frame. If your workspace isn’t in the comfort of your own home, opt for a light frame that you can stick up with a double-sided adhesive - no hooks required.
3. CREATE A JUNK JAR
Whether this occurs by accident or on purpose, having a designated jar (opaque, please) on your desk that’s always there for those tiny, random, nobody-knows-where-they-go bits and pieces, keeping the larger part of your desk space slick.
4. BIN IT
As comfy as it may be using your toppled over bin as a foot stool (100% guilty as charged), maybe it’s time to get an actual foot stool (skateboards also work) and use your actual dustbin as an actual dustbin. Keep it tidy, man.
5. SCENTED DIFFUSER
If you work in an office, leave an impression on everyone who rolls over to your desk. If you work from home, even better, it’s going to smell great. A desk space doesn’t have to be just a desk space. It can become an environment curated with thought. It can be transformed into a place which triggers a certain internal harmoney. It can enhance how you feel; how you operate; how you work.
